So you’ve finally graduated college after years of hard work and the moment has arrived. You’ve probably lined up your entrance into the real world (a job); or are facing a possibly eye-opening experience in the open job market. Why not take a trip before falling into the monotonous, ritualized life of the working-stiff. During your college years you experienced the ultimate party destinations be it Lake Havasu, Ft. Lauderdale, Cancun, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Bangkok, wherever is the established college homage to hedonism in your part of the world. As a college graduate you seek a destination a bit more sophisticated. Perhaps a destination that could serve as something to strive for before you spend most of your waking hours years going to the office and earning a paycheck. Take a trip to the world’s capitals of sophistication.

New York
New York CityNew York City represents the ultimate in sophisticated city living and life in the fast lane. Any kind of thrill can be had in the “city that never sleeps.” Experience some of the finer things in life like Broadway, the museums, world-famous restaurants, the nightlife. Take a tour of some vacant apartments and get a taste of what it would be like to live there. You’ll definitely mingle with a different crowd than what you saw in Fort Lauderdale.

Paris
ParisAnother singular city but in a much different flavor than New York, is Paris where the sophistication has a cultural edge and life doesn’t take a breakneck pace. The Musée du Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, and the Cité des Science et d’Industrie here are not to be missed, and neither is a walk along the Seine, past architectural marvels that have existed for centuries. Take another stroll down the Champs-Élysées, known as “the most beautiful avenue in the world” from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe and window shop (for now) on the second most valuable piece of real estate on the planet (behind New York’s Fifth Avenue).

Hong Kong
Asia’s version of New York is not to be missed. The city is solely responsible for serving as China’s capitalism model and nudging the sleeping giant into unprecedented economic growth. Hong Kong is not to be missed in a tour of the world’s capitals of sophistication. Check out Tsim Sha Tsui, the “shopping paradise” with its endless high-end dining and shopping options, but also museums, and cultural centers.

Buenos Aires
Buenos AiresThe pearl of Latin America is Buenos Aires. This thriving metropolis is notorious for its architecture, nightlife and culture. The sophistication here is definitely more affordable than New York, Paris, or Hong Kong. Experience the Plaza Dorrego market on Sundays with live tango and folklore exhibitions and shop for antiques. You can even take tango lessons in the center of the plaza. Don’t miss Colón Theatre where Verdi’s Aida was debuted in 1908 or the National Museum of Fine Arts with works by Van Gogh, Goy, and Picasso.

Celebrate your college graduation and entry into the working world with a trip to the world’s capitals of sophistication. Leave the drunken days of wet t-shirt contests and dirty dancing behind and experience what the world has to offer. You won’t regret it and you can set some lofty goals for yourself at your new job.
