The Best Ski Resorts in the World
Skiing is a popular activity all over the world and travelers from throughout the globe take to the roads and skies every winter to head to their favorite ski resorts. Without a doubt, the best skiing and resorts in the world are located in North America and Europe, with both being very popular destinations. There are several things that are factored in to these three resorts being some of the best. The first is of course the skiing. The number of runs and the overall ski conditions are something very important that anyone taking a ski holiday needs to consider before booking their vacation.

However, no one goes on a ski holiday and spends 24-hours a day on the slopes. You need a hotel, restaurants, and atmosphere in order to turn your holiday into the total ski experience. These locations have all of those things, and would make an excellent choice for your next alpine holiday. That being said, lets get started.

Big Sky, Montana: Big Sky is renowned for offering some of the best straight up skiing around. Due to its location and its size, the resort often has much shorter lift lines than you might encounter going somewhere like Vail. The powder conditions offer some of the most consistently excellent skiing in the country, and everyone who likes to ski should try it out at least once. There are numerous luxury hotel and suite options while skiing Big Sky, and among the most consistently well reviewed is the Summit Hotel.

Courchevel, France: For many, the idea of skiing conjures up images of rustic European lodges high in the alps. This isn’t rustic, but Courchevel offers some of the most beautiful and enjoyable skiing in the world and is the largest ski resort on the planet. The resort spans four villages and three valleys, which means there are lots of area for you to explore. This hill features such things as a facility for ski jumping and also features other winter activities like tobogganing and ice climbing among other activities.

Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia: Whistler is another of the world’s largest ski resorts and has plenty of extra features to lay claim to a top spot. Despite the fact that 16,000 skiers a day are on the slopes during peak season, when a resort has over 7,000 areas to ski in it becomes much easier than you might think to find your own piece of powder. There are loads of other winter activities to participate in here, such as snow tubing, snowboarding, and heli-skiing for the adventurous. For those with discerning taste in hotels, you can’t do better than the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, which proudly carries out the tradition of the great Fairmont Chateaus throughout Canada.

Austria has a lot of very good ski resorts, and maybe it is the most popular country when it comes to ski vacations. Here’s a suggestion:

Austria certainly has a ton of amazing ski resorts along with a reputation for having great terrain, but there are numerous other ski resorts around the world that have equally exciting trails such as whistler (as the author noted) or Avila/Le Masssif in Quebec

There are a lot of great skiing sites throughout the world and you have nailed them here on your site. Great job.
Whistler, the Canadian resort in British Columbia is an awesome resort. Not only is it some of the best skiing in the world, but the views are out of this world.
