Hotel industry is in constant evolution and has come a long way in the last decade. Today the definition of ‘service and comfort’ is going through an overhaul and latest technology is becoming the name of the game. Soon the way we see a hotel room and what comforts we look for while choosing a hotel will be based more on gadgetry than anything else.

Guestroom 2010 is the project that gives a glimpse of the hotel room of tomorrow. The room featured in HITEC, an annual event showcasing the latest technological advances in the hospitality industry. The room featured around 70 new futuristic technologies developed by various companies, providing an innovative out look in design, energy efficiency, usability and environmental protection. Many of the items showcased in Guestroom 2010 are already getting their test runs in luxury and boutique hotels. Facilities like motion sensor lights, PDA concierge, switchable privacy glass, masterless beds that move with body’s natural curves and a television mirror for the bathroom, green shower heads and carpets are just a few in a long list of features that will make travelling a lot more efficient and convenient and will also give the guys quite a few toys to play, with until the novelty wears off.

To check out the features in detail, visit the HITEC site.
