Sometimes it can be hard to find a great beach to take the family to. At certain times of the year the beaches become flooded with young adults looking to party all day long and can be unsuitable for the children. Other beaches are flooded with singles simply enjoying each others’ company, and there can be a lack of activities for children.
A great family beach is located in an area where there are alternate activities other than the beach to supplement your vacation. As we all know, staying in the sun for too long with inadequate protection can be very harmful to your skin, and so it is a great idea to take your vacations in areas where there are alternate activities where you can get your family out of the heat from time to time. Here is a list of five great family beaches within the United States.

Daytona Beach: Obviously, this Florida beach has been a popular vacation destination for many people for a number of years now. For a family, this is such a great destination because in addition to the beach itself, there are many other activities that are within driving distance that can fascinate and absorb your children. Vacationers can go to the Kennedy Space Center or the Marine Science Center. Sometimes an entire day at the beach can get boring, or you might be getting too much sun, so these alternate activities are great to have available on a family vacation.

Newport Beach: This California beach tends to cater to the higher end of society and is definitely a trend-setting summer hotpot. But there are loads of families that take vacations here and love the atmosphere. The beach is huge, and there are activities such as surfing, bicycling, and more to keep the whole family entertained.

Poipu Beach, Hawaii: Hawaii is a fantastic family vacation destination, and in fact, two Hawaiian beaches make our list. Poipu comes as a highly recommended beach because there is some great swimming here with different areas that are suitable for all ages. This beach is on the island of Kauai. If you’ve been to Hawaii but never to Kauai, try it next time, and make a stop at Poipu Beach.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: This is one of the busiest tourist spots in America, but if you like traditional tourism with all of the activities that it offers, then this is a great place to take your family. In addition to the beach itself, there is never a shortage of other activities due to the region’s tourist-centric summer economy.

Wailea Beach: This beach on Maui has things that shouldn’t be missed for the vacationing family. With an opportunity to see humpback whales in addition to enjoying the soft sandy beaches, this is a unique travel opportunity. There are whale watching tours available as well, sure to provide a memory that your children will never forget.
