An Introduction to the Florida Keys
Every year, thousands of tourists flock to tropical destinations around the globe in order to enjoy their holidays. Tropical destinations and beachfront resorts are by far the most popular category of vacation destinations. The things that people are really looking for in a holiday includes sun, warm beaches, great water, fair weather, and beautiful scenery, along with great hotels or resorts to stay at while enjoying all of that tropical bliss.
For many people, as soon as they begin thinking of these things, they start thinking about a vacation to the Caribbean; however, for many the cost of taking a holiday to the Caribbean can become prohibitive. Also, it can be much more difficult to arrange for travel accommodations when you have to leave the country. The answer to the dilemma this poses is in Florida for many people. Florida has some of the best weather in the country and has hundreds of miles of sandy beaches that are dotted with beautiful palm trees and is surrounded by pure blue oceans. And, for many the greatest way to experience this is by traveling to the Florida Keys, the series of approximately 1700 islands that begin just south of Miami.

The only large city in the Keys is Key West, which for many is the very definition of a tropical paradise. The islands are not exceptionally inhabited and include several smaller islands with no permanent residents, but Key West has a population of almost 80,000 people. There are some fantastic five-star resorts for guests to enjoy in Key West and we have two recommendations for you.

The Ocean Key Resort Key West has more than one hundred units that are designed with nothing more than your total comfort in mind. This resort is located near the bustling nightlife of Key West that is kept very lively by the constant tourist population. The hotel is located right on the oceanfront, and features a pool and fitness center right in the hotel complex for you to enjoy.
Another highly recommended resort is the Hyatt Key West. Hyatt resorts are generally a good bet in any city you go to, and in Key West just out the front door of your hotel you’ll have access to great golf, all the water activities you could want, and even day and evening cruises that will show you more of the beautiful Florida Keys.

Good article, lots of fine and accurate information on our beloved city. I agree, why go to the expense of a Caribbean vacation, when similar weather and more friendly folks exists in our Southernmost city.
