Best Family Vacations Ideas
There are many great ideas for families to keep themselves entertained during the winter months. From skiing to surfing, there is always something somewhere in the world that will be appealing and appropriate for the whole family to enjoy.
First of all, skiing is always a great option if the family is old enough to participate in the activity together. Going to some of the resorts that aren’t as crowded when you’re with a family can be a great idea. Big Sky Montana offers some of the best skiing around, but doesn’t have the crowds that Jackson’s Hole in Wyoming does. Also, in Canada, Whistler and Lake Louise tend to be extremely crowded year round, but Sunshine and Fernie can offer great skiing with less crowds and sometimes at a better price as well. You can enjoy a prime hotel like the Delta Lodge in Kananaskis inside of the Banff National Park and have access to three prime skiing areas within a nearby drive.
Another great idea for a winter time holiday is to head to Disney Land or Disney World. Orlando tends to have some great travel deals available, making Disney World sometimes the slightly more affordable option. This of course depends on your point of origin. The great thing is that if you’re looking to save a few dollars by not staying immediately within the park itself, there are a number of hotels located near the East Maingate into the park. The Fun Spots Hotel at Fountain Park in particular is billed as a family hotel, but there are also perennial favorites such as the Comfort Suites Maingate East and the Quality Inn and Suites East Gate that travelers have come to rely upon. Any of these hotels will prove more affordable than staying within the park itself, but they will all still offer very convenient access to all of the major attractions that Orlando has to offer.
Other family ideas for a winter vacation include taking a cruise or an all inclusive vacation to a resort like those offered in the Dominican Republic. Many cruise lines and resorts have family centric packages. Disney cruise lines in particular ensures that there are many activities aboard their ships to keep children of all ages entertained. Finding a place like that that has activities that everyone in the family can enjoy specific to their own age is key to planning a successful family vacation.
